Honorable Margaret Norrie McCain opens new early learning centre, meets with Premier Alward

FREDERICTON, NB: The Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain will be in New Brunswick October 6 to 7. Her schedule follows:

Thursday, October 6

10 am - 11 am: Launch of the Future Footprints Family Centre, Perth Andover Elementary School, 9 School Street, Perth Andover, with School District 14 Superintendant Lisa Gallagher, Nicole Gervais, Executive Director of Early Childhood Development and MLA Wes McLean.

11:45 am - 12:30 pm: Tour of Bath Step Ahead, Bath Middle School, 118 School Street, Bath.

Families and children will participate. Cameras permitted.

Friday, October 7

10 am - 11 am: Meeting with Premier Alward, Centennial Building, 670 King Street, Fredericton to discuss findings from the Early Childhood Development Centre demonstration sites.

The Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation is partnering with the Government of New Brunswick to create Early Childhood Development Centres, demonstration sites that combine the existing resources of child care, kindergarten, special needs and family supports into early years service centres aligned with schools. These full service programs showcase best practices in expand services to children and families and to improve program quality.
