Excerpt: "The Nova Scotia Child Care Association, and our sponsors, are pleased to host our third annual Mental Health in the Early Years Conference: Social Emotional Wellness from the Start. We hope to provide practical knowledge and tools through a variety of exciting professional development opportunities aimed to support practitioners who work with our most vulnerable population and their families, children aged 0-6.
This is a two-day conference with a special keynote presentation taking place in the evening on Friday, October 16, 2015 with the honorable Margaret Norrie McCain. This keynote is sure to set the tone for what is going to be a weekend full of engaging professional learning. This keynote is free of charge and open to the public.
The Nova Scotia Child Care Association has partnered with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, IWK Health Centre, Mount Saint Vincent University, and the Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation Inc. in an effort to provide practical information for professionals to use in their daily practice with young children, while stimulating the mind and recognizing the important work we do each day. This conference is intended to strengthen ties, and expand collaborations between those who work with children in the early years of life, particularly those who require additional support."
