FREDERICTON, NB, Feb. 7, 2012 - The Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain is in Fredericton Feb. 10 for meetings with Government and community leaders and to share the latest in a trio of reports she has co-authored on the scientific, social and economic rationales for investing in early child education.   Early Years Study 3 also introduces the Early Childhood Education Index, a tool that evaluates the effectiveness of provincial early childhood service systems.

Year 2 Report New Brunswick Early Childhood Centres

The Year 2 research report on the New Brunswick Early Childhood Centres, produced by the Health and Education Research Group (HERG) is now available.

Report description: "This report describes the ongoing evaluation of the integrated platform of services being demonstrated at the New Brunswick Early Childhood Development Centres, and presents selected outcomes from the first two years of implementation.  Research outcomes are expressed in terms of benefits of an integrated model of services; impacts on children, families, staff and service providers; as well as some of the challenges encountered at the community and provincial levels.
